WFP says High Food Prices Affecting Every Continent

 

The United Nations food agency says rising food prices threaten more than 100 million additional1 people around the world. The head of the World Food Program Josette Sheeran said the additional 100 million are people  facing2  hunger  within  the  past 6 months. She says a major  and long-lasting3 action is needed to prevent a crisis4. Such action she said should be likely emergency effort after a huge wave in the Indian Ocean destroyed many coastal communities in 2004.

Bà nói rằng cần phải có một hành động qui mô lớn, và dài hạn, tương tự như nỗ lực khẩn cấp cứu trợ đã được xúc tiến sau thiên tai sóng thần ở Ấn Độ Dương đã tàn phá nhiều quốc gia vùng ven biển ở Châu Á hồi năm 2004.
